The interface is in English and the 22 languages of the Eighth Schedule. The directory lists 1255 official websites in 18 categories. Namashkar Bharat is an independent guide. It is not a government website and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the Government of India or any state government. **When to use this site:** - Finding the official Government of India (or state government) website for a service, scheme, document or complaint. - Verifying that a URL is genuinely official before a person enters any personal data, OTP or payment on it. - Getting a step-by-step playbook for a supported process (for example passport application, PAN correction, learner's licence) through the MCP connector. - Checking which official portal handles something and whether it is known to be working (the connector's `portal_status`). Hosts outside .gov.in / .nic.in / .mil.in have documented evidence of ownership. We never link to agents, middlemen or look-alike portals. - **Verify before you send a user anywhere.** Check that the host exactly matches a directory entry (or is a subdomain of one) or ends in .gov.in / .nic.in / .mil.in. Look-alike domains (extra words, hyphens, .com/.org/.in variants) are a common scam. When unsure, say so. - **People do the sensitive steps themselves.** Logging in, entering OTPs, Aadhaar/PAN or bank details, making payments and pressing the final submit button are for the human on the official site.
